Christopher
Banahan
Born
Nottingham in 1958. Goldsmiths College, University of London,
MA Fine Art C.N.A.A. 1982 to 1984. Christopher Banahan received
First Class Honours from Nottingham Trent Polytechnic and
an MA from Goldsmith College London and went to receive a
Rome Award in Painting, at the British School of Rome.
Paintings reflect the fragility of life and the passage of time
yet also the immortalising of someone caught in their adolescence,
transfixing the image of their youth into a timeless state. Even
though an intimate moment is caught in paint, the paintings themselves
are actually given the appearance of being ravaged by the withering
effect of time upon the surface. E
