Hugh was born in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim in 1956. A self
taught painter, Hugh started painting as a child and while he
became a full time teacher of English he left his teaching career
in 1985 to become a full time painter.
Specialising in figurative and landscape, Hugh draws his inspiration
from the scenery around him particularly the Donegal area.
Hugh has been involved in many
exhibitions including Mullan Gallery, Belfast and Bank of Ireland
exhibition at the Waterfront in Belfast.
He was runner up in the Bass Irish Arts Award
in 2003.
