John Morris

Born in Dublin in 1958, John began painting in 1997, and is primarily self- taught.
Morris’ paintings of streetscapes and landscapes are described with raw and vibrant brush strokes demonstrating energy and vitality whilst capturing life around him through direct observation.
“I make quick sketches in pencil, charcoal or oil. These sketches along with photographs make up a visual diary, which I use as reference for my paintings.”

John has exhibited widely in Ireland. His commissions include the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh and The National Council for the Blind of Ireland. His work is featured in collections throughout Ireland including Mount Juliet, Co Kilkenny.
