Kate
was born in Limerick. She studied at the Limerick School of
Art and graduated from the National College of Art in Dublin.
A successful painting career flourished and enabled her to
teach art and exhibit widely throughout Ireland.
She developed her own unique and strikingly original style.
In her own words, “My aim is to create works of beauty, colour,
and mystery, which the viewer will never tire of looking at,
but will enjoy for many years to come.”
In 2000 Kate founded and worked in the Doras Art Studio for
refugees in Limerick.
Some of her numerous solo shows have
been at the Moulin Gallery, Limerick; the Café Sorte
Heste in Copenhagen; the Davis Gallery, Dublin; the Cork Arts
Society; the Lane Gallery Restaurant, Dublin and the Emmet
Gallery, Dublin.
Her work can also be seen in public
collections in Limerick at the City Gallery, the University,
the City and County Councils as well as the Ulster Bank. Works
featured in private collections are in the UK, USA, Holland,
France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Bali and El Salvador.
