About Us
My
interest in art began many years ago and as an Irish émigré
it is the art from my native country that has captivated me
the most. On my frequent visits to Ireland over the years,
I have visited all four corners of the country in pursuit
of my hobby. Now I am delighted to be bringing part of that
rich artistic legacy to London. We host a series of exhibitions
throughout the year, offering the private and corporate collector
an unparalleled choice of Irish art in London.
The
Barbara Stanley Gallery mover from the premises on the Upper
Richmond Road at the end of August and relocated to 27 Connaught
Street, Hyde Park , London W2 2AY in November. The Gallery,
which opened in Putney in March 2002, is now recognised as
the only London gallery to solely represent contemporary Irish
art and our presence in the West End will increase this exposure.
After ten delightful years in Putney, Barbara Stanley is now
in the process of re-focusing the way in which the gallery
operates. While the gallery will continue to exhibit the work
of both established and emerging Irish artists, there will
be a new focus on providing an art consultancy service based
on the increasing demand from both private homes and corporate
clients.
We will continue to bring an exciting schedule of exhibitions
and events to our valued customers. The Opening Exhibition
on 10th November, by invitation only, will feature a selection
of fine art prints by renowned Irish artists including: Donal
Teskey, Dorothy Cross and John Behan.
Barbara Stanley is very appreciative of the loyalty and support
of her customers over the past decade and looks forward to
welcoming them in her new premises. “Since opening my Gallery
in Putney ten years ago, I have been privileged to represent
some of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists. The genuine
and growing interest in Irish Art has been extraordinary and
I am very pleased to offer my experience and knowledge more
directly in helping clients source specific artworks and advise
on all aspects of building art collections”.
